The Soul Children of Chicago

Organized in October 1981, the Soul Children of Chicago, under the leadership of Walt W. Whitman, Jr., was created as an alternative program for African American at risk youth in the community to creatively express themselves and their exuberant energy through music. It is a non-profit organization whose membership mix is 50-75 male and female voices ranging from 7-17 years of age. Since its inception, the Soul Children of Chicago has remained a positive force through which at risk youth have an opportunity to learn cooperative interaction with their peers in an environment that fosters support, cultural enlightenment, academic achievement, and self-discipline.

Some of their noteworthy appearances include:

· Featured artist for the Chicago 90th Birthday celebration for Nelson Mandela
 · Featured at the International Film Festival honoring Sidney Poitier
· Featured with Globe Awards and Oscar Winner Jennifer Hudson

Performance will take place on Wednesday, 25.8 at  21:30 and 23:00 in the public area.

The new project of Ra-Ka-Tak, Rea Mochiach and Beri Sakharoff Will be premiere at the festival

Ra-Ka-Tak is a new project by the celebrated team, Berry Sakharof and Rea
Mochiach, who join forces time and again to produce intriguing and exceptional musical collaborations.
Sakharof, a musician and popular rock singer, and Mochiach, a musician, producer and adapter, teamed up for the first time in 1993 to record the album “Signs of Weakness”, which combined rock ‘n’ roll with electronic music (an original endeavor at the time). The two juggle various genres and styles with great ease to create a local contemporary mix of funk, fusion, jazz, rock ‘n’ roll, Middle Eastern music, classical music and dance.
The two artists explore unidentified territories through mutual creative stimulation and produce an energetic, innovative and rhythmic performance.
